The SOLO SIGHT MOUNT has been designed to dramatically increase the night fighting capability of the .50 caliber and 40mm crew served weapon systems. It can provide pinpoint accuracy with electro optics in total darkness within the tightest limit of the weapon employed. It is particularly effective when mounted on mobile platforms such as the HMMVW turret or equivalent. It can also be used to improve the night fighting capability of weapons mounted on special operations water craft, ships, or static ground positions. The SOLO is patented and 100% Manufactured in CANADA.

The SOLO  has two distinct advantages over anything available on the market today:

• The SOLO  allows the gunner to pinpoint the designated target efficiently, with it's built in elevation dial; with ranges from 0 to 3500 meters for the M2 and, 0 to 1700 meters for the 40 mm.
• The second advantage is the ability to mount electro-optic sights on to the weapons system. A buffer system is built into the bottom of the sight which absorbs 88% of the weapons recoil, protecting thermal or night vision equipment mounted on the weapon. No other system has this feature.

When the SOLO is installed on a M2 machine gun, MK19 40mm, and the HK GMG, only one hand is required to move the elevation dial to allow for new target acquisition.

For night operation, the operator can read the dial with the built in LED light, which will not affect the user's night vision. Reaction time is greatly reduced which is a crucial feature of the SOLO.

The SOLO can be attached to a grenade launcher or a M2 Machine gun in only a few minutes. When the SOLO is installed on a 40mm, the system uses the drift compensator feature which is built into the sight. As distance to the target increases, the natural spin drift of the 40 mm round is taken into account by the compensator allowing for extremely accurate fire. The drift compensator is completely mechanical and no electronic device is required. When used on a machine gun, the drift compensator is disconnected.

The SOLOallows the mounting of electro-optic systems, laser pointers and reflex sights as it is equipped with 3 Picatinny rails. Electro optics can be safely mounted, due to the buffer system, and will automatically reset back to zero even during sustained automatic fire.

The effectiveness of the SOLO SIGHT MOUNT was determined by the following field test. During the test evaluation without the SOLO  a gunner was able to hit a 3 x 3 square meter target at 800 meters after 3 rounds, conducted during a daytime fire.

When the SOLO SIGHT MOUNT was installed the gunner was able to hit a 1 x 1 square meter target at 800 meters with 1 round conducted in total darkness with an NVG Optic device and an IR Laser.
