While CANSEC may only last two days, it consistently delivers tremendous value — and this year was no exception.

CANSEC 2026, held on May 27 and May 28 at the Uplands Drive venue in Ottawa and hosted by the Canadian Association of Defence and Security Industries (CADSI), marked another important gathering for Canada’s defence and security community. This year’s edition was also the largest yet, with CADSI spokesperson Monique Scotti stating that approximately 20,000 delegates registered for the event.

For Cadex Defence, the week began on Tuesday, May 26, with Rampart Range Day & Expo at the Stittsville Shooting Range in Ottawa. Held from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM, this industry-exclusive, hands-on event brought together military, law enforcement, corrections, and government personnel for live-fire tactical equipment evaluations and demonstrations from leading brand manufacturers.

Range Day provided a valuable opportunity to connect directly with end users, demonstrate capabilities in a practical environment, and engage in meaningful discussions around operational needs, performance, and innovation.

Following Range Day, CANSEC 2026 offered two full days of valuable meetings, renewed partnerships, and new opportunities. It was great reconnecting with trusted business partners, exploring future collaborations, and meeting talented people from Canada and around the world.

The conversations, ideas, and relationships built during events like these continue to drive our industry forward. They reinforce the importance of collaboration, innovation, and long-term partnerships in supporting the evolving needs of defence, law enforcement, and security professionals.

We would like to thank everyone who took the time to visit us, connect with our team, and share meaningful discussions throughout the week.

We look forward to what comes next.
